We teach ball handling, passing, shooting

contests that are as fun to participate as
they are to watch!

We are conquering new opportunities and
challenges; The Coach Willis Wilson
Basketball Camp is primed for action again
this summer. Willis Wilson's camps have a
long standing tradition of providing
youngsters with quality, professional
instruction and commitment that
participants "have fun, learn and
improve," and we have always delivered!
See you on the court!
We believe that there is a simple reason
why Willis Wilson Basketball Camp has been
successful throughout the years; our
commitment to each individual player.
Campers divide into leagues by age and
ability, then are placed on a team with
their own coach for the entirety of camp.
Each day starts with Team Organization
where we cover individual offense, ball
handling, passing, shooting, team defense
and team offense. After that there will
always be a Lecture/Breakdown session by
one of the camp staff members covering a
certain aspect of the game, and then a
'breakdown' session with their individual
coach.
Games are a blast! Games are played every
day toward the second half of the daily
session. Everyone plays the same amount of
time because of our timed substitution
pattern. We stress team offense, team
defense and 'carry over' of skills that
were covered earlier in camp. Every day
there is some sort of individual
competition to encourage players to work
on those aspects of the game. There are
daily stations where campers rotate from
basket to basket working on different
skills with a different camp coach.
Our Camp Awards include the one-on one
championship, hot shot, best defensive
player, best hustler, most improved
player, and the most valuable player in
each league. And while individuals win
honors we always stress that "teams win
championships." Learn to play as teammate
and value teamwork! |
